Experience That Counts
Ms.
Leitman’s criminal court experience is expansive, and
she has represented a range of clients from major
figures in organized crime cases, other high profile
defendants, and ordinary accused individuals of felony and misdemeanor cases.
She is well respected in the legal community having
achieved Martindale and Hubbell’s “BV” rating from her
peers.
Ms.
Leitman was admitted to the practice of law in the State
of New York in 1982 and in Florida in 1998. She is
a past President of the New York Criminal
Bar Association, having been elected by its membership
of over 300 attorneys, and was the first woman President
of this Association . She served on the
Board of Directors since 1989, and was the chairperson of the
Women In Criminal Law Committee, and the Dinner
Committee. Her other responsibilities included serving as a liaison between the
Court and the Legal Community. She has both organized
and moderated at numerous Continuing Legal Education
lectures for the Bar Association. She also is a guest
commentator on Court/Tru TV.
In
addition to her position in the New York Criminal Bar
Association, she maintains memberships in the New
York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers,
Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Palm
Beach Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Palm
Beach County Bar Association, and South Palm Beach County
Bar Association.

Leitman is affiliated with
Emanuel A. Moore, Esq., a
Federal attorney specializing in both criminal and
immigration law, and the law firm of Leitman and Moore with offices in New York and Florida.
Ms.
Leitman was born in Manhattan, New York City. Her
educational background is public schools in Manhattan
and New Jersey; high school in South Plainfield, New
Jersey; college at Douglass College of Rutgers
University, New Brunswick, New Jersey; Loyola
University School of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana.
